Your Implant Journey

Consultation And Treatment Planning

The cost of treatment varies depending on the complexity of the treatment and on the materials required. A consultation with our implant dentist is often the best way to find out how much treatment would cost. This is determined by the number of implants indicated, the need for additional procedures to regenerate bone, and the type of replacement structure.

Dental implant surgery

On the day of your dental implant surgery, you will arrive at The Smile Boutique. We will put you at ease and once you are ready, will give you a local anaesthetic which will numb the specific area in your mouth.

If you have a failing tooth or several teeth which need to be removed, these will gently be extracted.

Healing Period

Once your bone has grown on to the implant (a process called osseointegration) the risk of complications when attaching teeth to the implants (referred to as ‘loading’) decreases. This healing period typically takes 2 to 3 months.

New Restoration is Fitted

Once your gums have healed sufficiently, we will invite you back to The Smile Boutique to have your restoration fitted. This might be a single crown or a bridge supporting a new set of teeth depending on whether you are having a single dental implant or multiple dental implants to support many missing teeth.

Your dental implant process is complete, and you will now have a brand-new smile with stunning looking new teeth.

Maintenance For Dental Implants

It is vital that you maintain good oral hygiene, brushing and flossing twice daily to keep your gums healthy and to prolong the life of your dental implants. You should also continue to visit your dentist and hygienist on a regular basis.
